MBG Young Investigator Symposium 2019

Become part of the young investigator research programme at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MBG), Aarhus University


Research at MBG is multidisciplinary with a focus on both basic and applied research in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry and ranging from quantitative genetics to structural biology (see description here). We aim to attract outstanding researchers who wish to apply for investigator grants, to establish an independent research group (see examples here).

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to give a seminar/talk at the MBG Young Investigator Symposium at Aarhus University on 20 August 2019. At the symposium, candidates will also be able to discuss funding possibilities, the development of an independent research group and other future career plans in depth with the MBG faculty.

After the symposium, outstanding candidates will be selected and mentored in writing investigator grant applications, with the aim of establishing an independent research group at MBG, Aarhus University.

Candidates obtaining an investigator grant will have the opportunity to establish their own research group in a stimulating and international research environment. MBG offers a personal career mentor and the possibility to participate in the Aarhus University Junior Researcher Development programme.

To express your interest

and submit:

  • your mission statement (half a page summarizing your research plans)
  • a copy of your CV, including a publication list and
  • the names and email addresses of three references.

Deadline for registration: 
Monday 6 May 2019.

Shortlisted candidates will be notified by
June 2019.
