Claus Tofting-Olesen: Studies of Non-Ribosomal Peptide Synthetases

PhD defence, Tuesday 19 April 2016. Claus Tofting-Olesen.

Claus Tofting-Olesen

During his Phd-studies, Claus Tofting-Olesen investigated the non-ribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPSs). NRPSs are among the world biggest enzymes and are responsible for the production of very complex molecules, many of which are considered to be among the most important pharmaceuticals known. The mechanisms behind the production of these valuable drugs are not fully understood and the aim of this research was to obtain a better understanding of how the NRPSs function. Claus Tofting-Olesen focused on NRPSs found in the genus Fusarium
