With this call, we aim to attract and support talented and visionary scientists in applying for Danish investigator grants with the aim of establishing a research group at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MBG), Aarhus University, Denmark. Research at MBG spans a wide range of basic and applied research themes within molecular and structural biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, and molecular medicine. We can offer a stimulating and diverse environment that fosters novel and innovative research ideas and supports collaborative projects.
The call is specifically aimed at early-career and emerging principal investigators, such as senior postdocs looking to establish their own research groups or early-phase junior PIs at the assistant professor level. Applicants are expected to have a strong publication record and approximately 4-8 years of post-doctoral experience.

Based on evaluation of the presentations and discussions of research plans, a number of applicants will be invited to visit Aarhus University and learn more about the department and the Danish funding opportunities, meet relevant PIs, and discuss career strategies and support offered at Aarhus University at the
MBG Young Investigator Site Visit, 17-19 August 2021
Based on a final evaluation, several candidates will be offered to enter the Young Investigator Research Programme and receive mentoring on funding with the aim of establishing a research group at MBG for a period of 5-7 years.
