Hans Christian Høiberg

During his PhD studies, Hans Christian Høiberg has sought to exploit the predictable and programmable folding of nucleic acids to advance nucleic acid nanotechnology towards therapeutic application. Multiple avenues towards this goal have been explored; one, using a complex DNA origami structures to compare binding energies of biological binders. Two, applying a 3D RNA origami structure to selectively knock down a target reporter gene in cancer cells. And, three, using an RNA modifying enzyme to add a chemical handle to in vitro transcribed RNA allowing for subsequent chemical modification.

The PhD degree was completed at the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO), Science and Technology, Aarhus University.
