Yan Yan: Investigation of microRNA in extracellular vesicles – toward a better understanding of disease and development

PhD defence, Wednesday, 28 September 2016. Yan Yan.

Yan Yan

During her PhD studies, Yan Yan researched extracellular microRNAs, which are cell-free and can circulate in bodily fluids. Yan Yan studied the expression profile of extracellular microRNAs using Next generation sequencing to show the dysregulation of microRNA expression in oral cancer and rheumatoid arthritis, and differential expression of microRNAs during osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells.

The new research findings contribute to the understanding of extracellular microRNA in human diseases and stem cell differentiation.

The PhD degree was completed at the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO), Science and Technology, Aarhus University.

This résumé was prepared by the PhD student.
