Double celebration as two Plant-PATH students successfully defend their Master's theses

The past few weeks have been a busy and joyful time for Plant-PATH, with several opportunities to celebrate the achievements of our early-career researchers. This week, under sunny skies in Aarhus, two students from Bjørn Panyella Pedersen's group at Aarhus University successfully defended their Master's theses.

On 24 June, Nanna Arvad Andersen defended her thesis which explored the characterization of plant membrane transport proteins using solid supported membrane-based electrophysiology, contributing to our understanding of plant transport mechanisms at the molecular level.

The following day, on 25 June, Lissa Griem defended her thesis, "Towards understanding transport proteins involved in nutrient-hormone relations in plants." Her project explored transport proteins that link nutrient signalling and hormone regulation, an important area of research for understanding how plants coordinate growth and development.

Both projects exemplify the interdisciplinary research at the heart of Plant-PATH, combining molecular, biophysical, and physiological approaches to unravel the mechanisms that govern transport processes in plants.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the external censors, Hussam Nour-Eldin from the University of Copenhagen and Rosa Laura Lopez Marques from the University of Copenhagen, whose expertise and insightful discussions contributed greatly to these memorable occasions.

Congratulations to both Nanna and Lissa on their successful defences and this important milestone in their scientific careers. We are proud to celebrate your achievements and look forward to following your future journeys in science.
