Call for Proposals - Pilot Projects for the Development of Knowledge Partnerships/Knowledge Alliances
Under The 2012 budget the European Parliament has secured specific funding for the pilot project ”Knowledge Alliances”(KA). The objective of the emerging projects will be to ensure stronger societal and economic relevance, and outreach in higher education, by strengthening the role of higher education institutions as engines of innovation and increasing the employability, creativity and innovative potential of graduates, professors and company staff.
KA are aimed at stimulation innovation by bringing together businesses and higher education institutions in partnership alliances. These alliances should provide incentives to try new innovative methods of teaching, to promote entrepreneurship and mindset to foster the generation of new ideas and interdisciplinarity through cooperation.
The established partnerships should jointly design and develop activities, and the KA program supports a broadly defined range of activities so as to be as flexible as possible. The activities should be structured to follow along the three principal axes of the KA program.
- New learning and teaching methods
- Fostering entrepreneurial skills and attitudes
- Structured mobility
The duration of the projects/partnerships must be between 12 and 18 months, and the overall budget for the co-financing of projects is € 1 million. The EC will contribute up to 75% of the eligible costs, with a maximum per project of € 400.000.
Deadline for submission of proposal is 28th of June 2012.
