Ernst-Martin Füchtbauer elected President of the International Society for Transgenic Technology
In March, Ernst-Martin Füchtbauer was elected president of the largest international society for people working with genetically modified animals, namely the International Society for Transgenic Technology (ISTT).
The term of office is from October 2020 to October 2023. The plan is for Ernst-Martin to take over at the general meeting held at the international TT2020 conference in Israel on 25-28 October 2020, but realistically, it's likely to turn into a virtual handover.
The International Society for Transgenic Technologies (ISTT) was founded in Spain in 2006, and moved to the USA in 2013. The ISTT currently has more than 600 members who share in the goals of increased communication and technology sharing to enhance scientific research and to advance the field of animal transgenesis.
The Society's journal of record is Transgenic Research. In addition to meeting reports, the programs and abstracts of the ISTT Transgenic Technology (TT) meetings are published in Transgenic Research.
