Mathilde Nielsen: MicroRNA expression in pigs and the liver transcriptome during Actinobacillus infection
PhD defence, Thursday 22 May 2014. Mathilde Nielsen.
During her PhD studies Mathilde Nielsen has examined the microRNA transcriptome in different porcine tissues. MicroRNAs are small RNA molecules which contributes to the regulation of gene expression. These studies has greatly contributed to the expansion of porcine microRNA repertoire. Furthermore, Mathilde has investigated the mRNA transcriptome together with expression profiles for selected microRNAs in the liver during the immune response caused by Actinobacillus infection.
The PhD degree was completed at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Science and Technology, Aarhus University.
