Peter Zeller

Tenure Track Assistant Professor

Peter did his undergraduate studies in molecular medicine at the University of Freiburg. For his PhD research he joined the group of Susan Gasser at the Friedrich Miescher Institute in Basel where he worked on the role of repressive chromatin (H3K9me3) in the repeat repression and genome stability. He then moved to the Hubrecht institute in the Netherlands where he conducted his postdoctoral research in Alexander van Oudenaarden’s lab, developing single-cell multi-omics technologies to study epigenetic gene regulation. In 2025 he joined the MBG to establish his own group.
