Nutrition strategies of the parasitic plant dodder

Prof. Stadler’s talk will focus on nutrient acquisition by the parasitic plant Cuscuta reflexa (dodder), which infects a wide range of host plants through specialized structures called haustoria. Using fluorescent tracer experiments and gene expression analyses, the study examines how nutrients are transferred from host to parasite and how infection affects host sugar transport pathways.
