Nisserun 2025 best costume winners!

Yes, you heard that right - members of Plant-PATH won the prize for Best Costume at this year's annual Christmas lunch's three-kilometre run in Aarhus.

At the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Aarhus University, the Christmas lunch always begins with a festive three-kilometre run. Prizes are awarded for the event, including one for the best costume. This year, Plant-PATH put together a spectacular team of reindeer tied together and led by a determined Santa (Lynette Nel bravely ran 3km in a full, synthetic beard, which we believe deserves a special mention!) – an achievement that earned them the prize for Best Costume.

The team included Master’s project students, members of Plant-PATH, and even a visiting reindeer from the Peter Andersen Laboratory at Aarhus University. The travelling trophy, which will now have the winners’ names neatly added with a Dymo label, is proudly on display and, according to Lorena Zuzic, represents “a level of collaboration never seen in academia.”

A big congratulations to the winners, and happy holidays from everyone at Plant-PATH!
