Plant-PATH's Pedersen lab opens up to the official oppening of the University city in Aarhus
Plant-PATH's Pedersen lab located at Aarhus University opened up to guided tours for the official opening ceremony for the University city. Here Frederik, a Master student in Pedersen lab, was one of the guides.
The University City is a part of Aarhus University and is located just by the main University Park. The buildings which constitute the University City are old hospital buildings newly renovated to host different institutes such as Molecular Biology and Genetics which is where Pedersen and Kjærgaard lab is placed.
The University City holds many memories for people, both former employees of the old hospital, but also for people who might have been there for other reasons. Now residing many different research groups such as two of the Plant-PATH groups, a lot of people find it interesting to see how it looks now and how it is different from when they were there themselves. But also what the buildings is used for now, both for education and research.
Frederik besides being a master student in Pedersen lab is also part of the “Visitor Service” which is an outreach program for the insitute of Molecular Biology and Genetics. With the opening ceremony tours Frederik wanted to show Pedersen lab to the visitors, how it looks, what methods are used and what the international research center Plant-PATH is and what we are doing. This is something that Plant-PATH is more than happy to show and open up to the public since outreach is so important for us.
