Travel Grants - ENLACE – Enhancing Scientific Cooperation between the European Union and Central America

The ENLACE project aims to support bi-regional dialogue between researchers in Europe and their colleagues in Central America. The project is funded under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) for Research and Technological Development-International Cooperation.

The ENLACE Travel Grant Scheme has been set in motion to help promote EU and Central American researchers mobility and encourage contact between research institutions in the two regions.

This 3rd call of the Scheme focuses on helping Central American and EU researchers to meet and discuss the possibilities of a joint preparation of a project proposal /Cooperation in the People or Cooperation Programme of the upcoming FP7 calls (July 2012).

The Grant allows for researchers to stay in either EU or Central America for a maximum of 30 days and provides two types of funding.


  1. Full grant: covering the costs of travel and subsistence up to the amount of € 3.000
      Co-financed grant: covers expenses for travel or subsistence up to the amount of € 1.500


  2. In order to maximize the benefits of the researchers’ stay in the EU or Central America, it is envisaged that the grantees visit additional research institutions of their thematic interest.

    Deadline for submission is Thursday 10th of May 2012.
