At the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics we study the interactions between different cell systems, including the relationship between DNA, RNA and protein synthesis, and how these interactions are regulated.
The official departmental seal shows selected focus areas at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics and their interrelationships:
The upper half of the seal shows the molecular level, while the bottom half shows the organism level. The circle starts in the upper left corner and shows how DNA via RNA is translated into protein. Then follows the development / evolution towards the final organism, for example the scientist who investigates the constituents of life. Thus the circle is closed.
