Purpose: To increase the PhD Students and Postdocs’ career awareness by providing them with knowledge and understanding of how they develop their career skills at different stages of their research training.

9.45 – 11.45 I Career decision making: Your options, your skills and your interests
Career decisions can be complex and are based on your understanding of available options, your skills and your interests. In this session we will look at the options available for MBG researchers beyond academia and through guided reflection and structured exercises, you will clarify your values, interests and the skills you want to use. Finally, we will discuss how these align with various career paths and job functions.
11.45 – 12.30 I Making the transition: When and where to start
This session focuses on the practical steps of moving into a new career field and is designed to give you clear guidance on navigating uncertainty and taking strategic action toward your next role.
12.30-13.00 | Lunch break
13.00 – 13.30 I The academic career path in DK
13.30 - 15.15 | Research abroad: Funding possibilities, career paths and work-life balance
The session participants (Anne Færch Nielsen, Lotte Winther Stagsted, Ditlev Egeskov Brodersen) will share their experience being a postdoc abroad, working in scientific publishing and moving a family back to Denmark. We will also go through the different funding options for postdocs abroad and talk about how the foundations evaluate applications for postdoc fellowships.
